Opera still blocks the site, KIS doesn't find a Trojan anymore but blocks a forbidden link.

Techies have been informed of the attacker's URL. This should help us getting rid of them.
Doing that isn't going to stop the attacks since not all the reports are based on java or adobe.

I've had 3 attacks since being a member and they havn't been based around java or adobe but from the url I posted in my other post. But blocking that still isn't enough because the 2 other attacks was from 2 totally different hosts.

However, as a web delevoper, I can tell you that the exploit fixed in Java only created 2 more which have been found and reported.

So no matter what we do, it's not going to stop these attacks.

Do your ad company not screen ads?
edit: NOD is still reporting virus' coming from a different domain despite having updated java, NOD, and blocking that .info domain... (firefox with Adblock still gives me NOD alerts, I guess NOD is picking up the virus before ABP can block it)

Screw the guy(s) making these fucked up decisions to use these kind of ads. Fuck'em! Really. There, I said it!

aldito01 - I use Chrome I haven't stepped on a mine of virus, yet it appears. I just downloaded Avast! and updated Java... Shouldn't be necessary though. Ridiculous.

    EDIT:
It's not the first time there's problems, far from it, and the problems is just getting worse and worse. I'm only hitting out on the individual(s) who have made the decision to use this bullcrap advertisement.
Causing direct, severe problems for users of this site is highly condemnable. Having to reformat, Christ...

It will get worse, since the new java update is more flawed than last one.

Best possible way to cut the infections is Avast and ABP.

Avast blocks the connection to the attacking site before it loads and adds it to it's black list.

It won't cut the amount of times you get attacked but it will stop you from getting infected.

Avast will close Firefox and Opera (not IE) if a file is found to be downloading in the blackground without you knowing to protect you. This is the best possible solution for now.

Too bad you couldn't clean this place up. Only place I ever get attacked from. Been coming here for many years every day but this is the last time I will ever come here.

As a Net Admin I advise you to take a hard look at your ads and decide if becoming a blacklisted site is worth it.

    Goodbye.

I have no of the aforementioned problems whatsoever. I use Firefox 3.6.8 with NoScript and AdBlock Plus. No problems using Opera 10.60 either.

I strongly recommend not using Windows XP, if you do not want to get infected, and this is not limited to the usage of skins.be of course. XP is 9 years old, ancient in terms of computers. I've been using Vista and 7 for years now and barely have any infections ever (mostly harmless ones) and no viruses/trojans at all. They really are better than XP in almost every way.

Furthermore, concerning the Java update, consult this info as well, if using Firefox:

    http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?me...40402#10540402

This ensures that Firefox also uses the latest Java plugin on your system.

I have IE8. When I browse to skins.be http://imiyq.info/x/index.php?s=e5b and many more letters and digits after that is trying to load for ever.
When I use a link from an email like http://wallpaper.skins.be/shakira/39008/1680x1050/ works fine.
When I browse to http://nl.skins.be/babes/#J it loads, but I can't see half of the babes. When I maximize IE8 I see them all. Clicking on a babe (like http://nl.skins.be/jessica-alba/) it loads. When click on "beelden" (images) I see the thumbs, but I don't see the resolution links anymore.
I have this problem with IE8 since 30 July 2010 on at least 2 different computers with 2 different internet providers.

    To the Admins of Skins.be:
The Malicious Code is ON THE WEBPAGE - no ADS - its direct on your files, it's bound by an iframe, just have a look at the source and you'll see it!!! sso plz change every password to the server and delete that source....

If you're able to still use it you can use either Avast's free AV or go for something like BitDefender.

If you arn't you can try to see if it works in safe mode if this option is unavailable the only other way is a fresh install of your OS.

Well if your infected I would suggest going doing the following

    running these
    http://www.eset.com/online-scanner
    or
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Most if not all of anti-virus companies offer free online scans though some want to you to pay to remove what they find.

After that I would get a better anti-virus/internet security software and if you can disable java on the main page of the site or disable java as whole.

Looks I'm down to a reformat of drive C. Fortunately, I keep programs I used elsewhere. At one point, my anti-virus (AVG Free) and Ad-Aware were able to update and find this thing. I also did the non-destructive XP reinstall several times. Now Windows Firewall will not start, nor with IE and FireFox and Ping cannot connect to anything. Looks like this thing went into hiding and is blocking things.

I've also updated my ClarkConnect firewall settings to block more addresses and to block outgoing SMTP not coming from the mail server. Either I'm gonna stop coming here or I am getting a Mac.

You do know if you get the pop up "You are/might be infected with malware blah blah" to NOT click cancel or the X to close the window? The whole entire window is a "ok, download this thing for me..." You need to bring up task manager and kill IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc. I know firefox will reopen the tabs you had open, the way this is served from the ad server the chances of it reappearing on the tabs again is 50-50 since it is ad generated. Saying what pics is was on has zero to do with it. These are coming from the ad company.

A lot of people go with AVG or AVAST because they are free. Amazon.com has norton av for $25. I have heard of a lot of people getting viruses with avast. Spend the money and get something that really works. I have no problems with viruses and i run windows vista.

Norton? Might be a good product, well I've heard way more negative than positive. Can you say resource hog? I myself use Avira, Firefox for a browser with adblock and noscript. Not a hint of trouble. One other thing peple might want to do is download Spywareblaster. It is totally passive, as in it doesn't run. I just ads domains to your hosts files, it get updated regularly. Spybot also has a immunization feature that does the same thing. Spybot isn't that great of a spyware remover. I use it just for the immunization feature. Keeping the denied domains up to date in your hosts file helps in denying the connection to the 'bad domains.' Granted there are 100's of these driveby download sites added into the wild daily. I doubt ANY software can be 100% on top all things at all times.

Exactly, they pay the site to allow them to infect members with viruses, trojans, and worms. They are supposed to only advertise, but the site knows they are doing this and allowing it.

Wait until you get the latest "Trojan Hilati" this is a really good one, hits with a resounding thud. Open taskbar and close everything, you still got it. Downloads 6 viruses onto your computer in the first hour. And it is hard to kill. Only way is running malwarebytes in safe mode.

I spent hours getting rid of it and all the trash it downloaded last week when I was stupid enough to come here.

Guess what? I was stupid enough to come back and it hit me within the first 30 seconds.

My congrats to Skins.Be, you do have the best trojans.

I'm off for hours of scans.
