it's impossible to remove all text from this photo. the text is too big and the background has a lot of black-red gradients. I could remove it but it would look like crap. so no way dude...

it's impossible to remove all text from this photo. the text is too big and the background has a lot of black-red gradients. I could remove it but it would look like crap. so no way dude...

Pretty much agree with Punkster. Removing the text is beyond my skills because of the gradient on the background. If you find another picture of the same girl I'd be happy to stitch/frame it over the text, or if you tell me the name of the girl I could put it over the text. . .

Here you go Badboy. . . . Its not perfect, but its better than the annoying text that was there. Plus I cleaned up the colors in the image a bit.

IMO I don't think that there's a 'universal' tutorial for removing text. It depends on

• the photo,
• the quality,
• text-size,
• text-position on the photo,
• how homogeneous the background is,
  • it's easier to copy a plain white background as an background like in this picture: http://forum.skins.be/319743-post4622.html
• from how many places you can copy the background,
  • if you have only one position (e.g. under the text), then you get a 'stairstepping'-effect (Treppeneffekt). it looks like crap, but you can add your text to the photo, e.g: http://forum.skins.be/320075-post4628.html
• etc...

You need also

• good photoshop-skills
  • incl. using the 'copy-' and 'healing-tool',
  • transforming equal parts and including it to the rest of the photo
• a lot of time,
• etc...

Or in other words: "The proof is in the pudding." (German: Probieren geht über studieren)

it's true, google shows you some tutorials. but keep in mind, they are only for the one special photo used in the authors-tutorial.

see my tutorials (like the displace-filter, gemma-tutorial, etc.), they tell you only the way how to make a wallpaper out of the photos I used. If you want to use other photos you've to change settings, using other brushes, etc.

Well, check google if you don't trust me. I know what I'm talking about. I'm using photoshop for almost 6 years. Started with Elements 2.0 later with CS...

Nice vid. It's good explained for beginners to remove fast small objects like the tatoo, but If you want to remove text from the photo you've to take care of my tips shown above
