How to download the images from one single post

What you will need:
Firefox with imagehost grabber add-on
Ability to follow instructions

1. Find the post containing the images that you wish to download.
2. Click the "reply with quote" option and copy the text inbetween the QUOTE codes.
3. Open a new private message and paste the code into it.
4. Enter a random title for you PM and enter a username as the person to send it to (I use myself ) otherwise the next step will not work.
5. Select "preview message" option. You should see the pictures you want in your private message.
6. Run imagehost grabber and select your save location. Remember that you can only download TWO images at once from image.skins.be so configure imagehost grabber accordingly (tools -> imagehost grabber -> options -> host options -> Max. simultaneous HTTP requests "2").

The illiterate person's guide:




If the images are NOT hosted on image.skins.be, you can use JDownloader instead.
Do the first 2 steps, and then add the code to JDownloader's clipboard and it will "decrypt" the links. Then, remove all the images less than 10kb for these are just the thumbnails. Merge the remaining links to one package, set a location and download. You may have to click "check online status" a couple of times or "reset" some links when downloading, but they will all work.

It actually works! Thanks for the tip. Only problem is that there's 30 000 characters limit on Private Messages but that's not a big one.

we were able to open each post individually by clicking on the number of that post (based at the title) but now when i click on it,it opens that exact same page with all the other posts.i have extremely low speed... is there anything that possibly could be done? perhaps back to the old option? :d

It's not even a Tech/Owner area really since the functionality to display individual posts was removed in vBulletin 4, since it caused content duplication and as a result, problems with Search Engine Optimisation methods (to get better search result ranking).

It can be added as a addon to vBulletin 4 if absolutely necessary . . . but the lower search result that would come of that and resulting lower chance of reaching the target audience of Skins, is probably why the Owners and Admins haven't done this already. + less people thru the site, means less revenue from the advertising thats shown, means less money to help fund Skins staying alive, which of course is not a good thing . . . long and the short of it is, while it's disappointing to lose a feature, Skins will be better off in the long run as a result.



Though there are still ways to download all the photos from just a individual post . . . Try IIIDownloader, Bulk Image Downloader or ImageHost Grabber Firefox Addon (must be latest beta 1.6.6 or above to allow selective downloading, it's in the link <--).
