There some problem ! Very difficult to find threads.

So before more complaints coming.

Something happened, which changed all urls of the threads, only the numbers are left. So you have to adjust your links, sigs, and so on...

Problem is .....

When i search say "skins.be Selena Gomez hq" in google it still showing results in old addresses and i end up in index page of forum. . Now i have to use forum's serach tool but if the requested thread is not active for some time it didnt even show in results.

is this a permanent change ?

That is not our problem, but the one of google. Is it normal to search in google for skins.be threads?? Never came to my mind

It may be googles fault, bot certainly not their problem. You need people to find content to stay alive, not them.
And the links on this site don't work either, so there is definetly a small problem somewhere. The links on the start site under "latest posts" for example don't work yet. Haven't found anything else yet that seems to be broken.
Should be easy to fix?

I was on the skins.be home page and every link I click in the "Latest Posts" box leads to the index. Is that box just not updated yet? If I reload the page new posts show up in the box and they also don't work.

had this problem earlier today, I clear the cache of my ff (Version 9.0.1) and voila, everthing fine.

And why the hell search somebody about google, to find threads in skins? Never had problems on site to find every thread of a babe or, when there is'n any, the other possible answer: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms"

I cleared the cache and all cookies (FF 11.0), but it didn't help. I even tried different browsers that haven't been on this site.

How can this even be a client problem? The link get's changed after you clicked them, that has to be server side, right?!


About the google search: I think the skins.be search is good enough, although it's weird that if you search for 'candice swanepoel' for example, you get other topics as first results, but you can just change the option under 'advanced search' to 'titles only' to find the thread about candice first. Titles should be more important than posts by default, but that's just nit-picking...

It appears that the mod-rewrite (or whatever mechanism that was in place to handle the URLs) is no longer working, or was changed.

For example previously the URL:
http://forum.skins.be/9-hq-celebrity...-underwood/14/

Is now accessed via:
http://forum.skins.be/thread2173-14.html

So the thread IDs and page numbers are still in there, but the actual URLs themselves have changed. It sounds like this was unintentional, but the question is whether or not this will be "fixed" so that the old URLs will work again. If not, it's still pretty easy to change the links to what they need to be in order to work again.

I don't know if this is how Google works, but maybe over time as they update their Cache the links will be automatically updated.

I don't want to sound impatient, but are you guys working on a solution? Is there any official answer to the problem?
I visit the site often and while I look for new wallpapers, I always use the "latest posts" thing to get to know new models/actresses by clicking on names I never heard of.

There is really nothing we, mods and admins, can do about this issue.

Oh, I didn't know that the technical guys and the mods/admins are that separated. I thought some of the forum admins are the ones who programmed the site.
So the people who can fix it already know about it?

Than we'll just have to wait.

For me anyway

I use google to search for skins.be threads too, it's quicker and there is no 30 second between searches... But google is a touchy beast, it won't like the sudden change, and many threads are no longer indexed, and it knowing google, it will take it's time in indexing the new URL structure.

I'm sure the age and popularity of skins will maintain it's very high google rank once the new url's are fully indexed

Point was... use Skins.be search... Give google time to catch up if you prefer googling for threads x
